One Heart for Justice Festival 2012
We are so thankful for everyone who made this year’s One Heart For Justice Festival so successful. This year’s event allowed us to see adoptive families come together to celebrate their own recent adoptions or soon-to-be-complete adoptions. We watched as volunteers and donors came from every corner of the community to bless our event, and we cheered as runners sprinted across the finish line. We experienced much joy as our community came together to work and to pray and to see the hand of God move in this festival.
Through the partnership of many, more NWA families will welcome home adopted children by way of grant assistance from The Titus Task; and more children and young women will know freedom from the tragedy of human trafficking as they are rescued, loved, discipled, mentored, cared for, and housed by the ministry of Ezekiel Rain in Thailand.
The two main highlights of our week included a packed showing for our Pure Joy Ice Cream Social and Silent Auction night at the Siloam Springs Community Center and our race event that featured Siloam Springs’ first ever half marathon. Along with the half marathon, our race-day included a 5k as well as a one-mile fun run and “rubber chicken” relay. We had 281 total registered runners and 160 volunteers. A grand total of $18,500 was collected through corporate donations, silent auction sales, race registrations, private donations, and other items sold. Our net take-away to benefit both The Titus Task and Ezekiel Rain ministries came to $11,000!
We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support of our community and of people like you who have helped make this event possible. On behalf of all of us who organized the One Heart For Justice Festival, please accept our heartfelt thanks!
